Job Title: 1st Grade Teacher
We are looking for passionate 1st Grade teacher to join our team! The 1st Grade Teacher is responsible for providing instruction to students in both English and Spanish. Our teachers develop lesson plans and assessments that take into account the specific needs of students in our programs. Additionally, our teachers collaborate with other teachers and school administrators to ensure effective programming that meets the needs of all students. Overall, the role of the dual language program teacher requires a high level of language proficiency, cultural competence, and pedagogical expertise.
What you bring to the table
- Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Elementary Education
- PA Instructional Certification specific to PK-4 or eligibility for instructional certification in Pennsylvania
- Strong instrumental skills, including piano accompaniment
- Content knowledge in research and development of library skills, in addition to classroom management, organization, planning, instructional delivery, and technical skills
- A deep knowledge of music theory
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to motivate and build relationships with parents, students and staff to promote student achievement and strengthen community partnerships
- Commitment to diversity and inclusion
- Bilingual in Spanish

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 10-months, exempt
- This position is for in-person work at our location
- 180 instructional days, 197 work days (new staff members work additional days for induction/orientation)
- In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable
- To be eligible to work for Pan American Academy Charter School, you must complete and submit background clearances and paperwork prior to your start date. We are able to accept clearances if they are less than one year old from the date a new employee presents them to Human Resources.
